We are all looking for ways to rid ourselves of this beast, but is it fair to ask other people in this country to pay for our problem?
If we ask, no demand, the government solve our problem, then the next group shows up wanting their piece of the pie, etc. etc. It may sound harsh, but maybe I don't want to have my money taken from me forceably to try to solve all of the problems in this country.
A better approach might be to appeal to someone or some organization that stands to make a buck. If it can be shown that the cost of the miracle drug that they create is greater than the cost of creating it, then maybe they'll be interested.
A voluntary approach will work better than a forced one.
