It doesn't matter how long it has been on the pharmacy shelf or YOUR shelf, Michael. The "use by" date is computed from the moment of production, so wherever it has been shelfed, as long as conditions are right, it will still be operative.
And Byron, there should be a "use by" date somewhere on the package, on the box, somewehere ont the bottom of a capsule. Buy yourself a lens...
