My first attack came each day at the appointed hour, I was able to sleep for one hour and they were gone. The pain level must not have been that bad for me to sleep. Since that first time, they have not been that well mannered.
I think you received good advise about finding out if there is any other explanation for the pain. If you haven't already, an MRI or Xrays are probably in order...
