Yes, hyperventilating does help me as well. I found it
most effective if I do cycles of hyper- and hypo-ventilation.
Additionally, just to make it more of a useful activity,
I indulge in anaerobic exercise to get 'em endorphins
flowing. I usually do sets of sit ups and push-ups until
I am almost tight as a "super ball". Since you are
taking cafergot, you may want to consider increasing your
caffeine intake. Although it is not recommended for CH,
I find that it helps in keeping the demon in check. Diet
pepsi and hot coffee help an awful lot.
