now, my CH only started this year ... and i sense you've been at this longer than i) but let me lay an anecdotal on you ...
being a smoker in california, 1998 began for me the miserly existence that the CH now mandates. i've often thought that it's some kind of poetic justice ... like, "ok asshole - if you're gonna stay home and smoke we'll ..." (not sure what deity or devil i think "we" is) "... we'll just give you a REASON to stay home!"
of course, that's dogdung.
but you're not the only one thinking you "deserve" CH. nor did you do this site a disservice (as Bob P. attested). we are a unique breed, us brainbanging clusternoggins, the accomodation of diverse ideas permeates almost every thread. if nothing else, be proud to be part of such an elite (albeit terribly unlucky) outfit.
you do not deserve CH. what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. if you need comfort or a listening ear or an understanding heart, lean on us. like a teepee frame, when we all lean on each other we're a pretty strong structure. if any pole of the teepee frame falls, the entire tent is weakened.
now, let's get you some help. post some of your details. how long have you been hammered by these skullbusters? what's your frequency? what have you tried?
