I haven't posted in a long time, and my last cluster headache was over a year ago. I received the newsletter in my email today, and I can't get over how much has been accomplished on this site. You people have done a magnificent job and I just wanted to let you know. God forbid my headaches return, I will be sure to return here.

My husband Dan passed away over a year ago on June 5, 1999 from malignant melanoma that had spread throughout his body. His last year was very difficult and very sad and I spent all of my time caring for him.
I will say that cluster headaches are not caused by stress, as the past couple of years were the most stressful time of my life, and thank the lord I was just bothered minimally with headaches. The last few I had were about a month after Dan died. I feel thankful that God helped me to be headache free while Dan was so sick, so that I was able to be with and care for him full time.

I remember when I was posting here and how much it helped to be able to know that there were others going through the same thing and understood how terrible this headache is. It's like nobody believes you - the way you are in pain - other than all you, that have, and are going through this. If I didn't thank you before, I do now.

You're a great bunch, and even though I think the world of you all, I pray I never have to return to you for help again. That's probably only a dream, but for now I'll keep on dreaming it. I've had cluster headaches off and on for the past 12 years, and now being alone, I pray more than ever, that they never return.

I wish you all pain free days and nights and that someday, hopefully soon, there will be a medication that will immediately get rid of the headache.

I'll try and pop in occasionally to see how you all are doing, but my life right now is involved with teaching as many people as I can, about Melanoma and what a deadly disease it is, so that hopefully I can make more people aware of taking care of their skin before it is too late.

My prayers are with you all.

Hugs, Arlene
