If you're chronic then it'll not stop unless you're lucky enough to have them go away. If you're episodic (80 percent of people who have CHs are, so chances are good that you're one of them)then you very well may be done with this cycle within a week. Then it shouldn't come back from anywhere between months to years. Let's hope for the latter. There are even a few people who have had only one cycle and it never returned.
You probably will still have some attacks while on Verapamil, but not as many and not as strong, if it works properly for you. It has a pretty good success rate in how well it works.
You'll have to tell us (and your neuro) if it's the right dosage. Some people only need 240 mgs and others need a lot more.
You said that you use Imitrex. Have you tried O2 (pure oxegyn) as an abortive too?
