Some plain english help please..

I'm currently seeing my doctor and a Neuro (at last!!) and we are talking about some new medications to help me.
I've only had Imigran tablets up to now.

I've convinced them to let me try Imigran injections and I'm okay with that.

Could I ask for a brief description in simple terms of what the following are and how they help our condition please ;

Prednisolone

Verapamil

Amitriptyline ( I know that's an anti-depressant ?? )

I can find medical terms on the net of what they are but would appreciate a plain english explanation.
