might make sense to start by getting together informally, regionally -
could begin to work up regional info on docs, treatment centers, local HMO & BC/BS problems & solutions, etc.
I usually feel in such things, it is vitally important to keep the focus on the topic - sometimes great big plans take on a life of their own, and the "event" becomes more important than the quest
eg: I'm located about an hour north of Boston, a 3 hr drive will get me to Albany NY, into CT, anywhere in MA, anywhewre in NH & VT and southern 1/2 of Maine - -
I would be glad to host a small get-together if any folks from New England are interested, or travel a few hours to a more convenient location
