Mike L is not the first poster on this message board to report success with methadone.
As a matter of fact, for some episodics methadone acts not only as an abortive, but even as a preventative - that is to say that it reduces the number of headaches, or shortens or even terminates a cycle completely.
I don't know if it has deleterious effects on tooth enamel and/or bone marrow. Unfortunately, almost all (not all, but ALMOST all) of the medications effective in treating CH are toxic to some degree.
