Maxalt can extend the pain free period after taking an Imetrex injection, however it is not recommended to do so. It helped me get through a year long 5 times a day chronic episode, but I couldn't tell my DR. I was doing it. I had taken so many injections I had built up a tolerance to them. Taken by mouth at onset of C/H it had little or no effect in aborting the attack. But would prolong the Imetrex injection effect for 8-10 hours.
