I'm a cafergot user and used to be guilty of the same waiting game to be sure it was gonna be a HA. My waiting was prompted by the rationing of the drugs (cafergot - not more than 6/HA & 10/week). How do you stick with that when you get 2-3 HA's a day? Now I don't worry about it. When I feel what may be the start of a HA, I take the ercaf. Wind up taking 20/week (double the allowed amount). Only effects are that I beat off more HA's quicker and of course my fingers & toes are constantly cold from lack of circulation but that's a price I'll gladly pay.
