I work for a med doctor and he recently went to a headache seminar where there is a new treatment for cluster headaches. It is known as a "sphenopalatine ganglion nerve block". Meds are placed on a flexible cotton swab and placed through the nostril down to the palate. I'm not sure how this works but I would ask your doctor about this.
