Here in Cabarete, on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, we get windsurfing conditions like that many, many days of the year. This is what I love more than anything... big wave high-wind windsurfing. Greatest thrill on earth.
For those of you who wonder how I got my name, I used to own a windsurfing business here called Pink Shark Windsurfing... sort of like the Pink Panther... smiling shark logo.
Yes, I do feel relieved when an episode is over... but not as jazzed as when I get some major air just in front of a huge dumping wave, as in this shot. Small board, small sail, strong wind, acres of foaming whitewater booming and hissing and roaring and crackling just behind you... man! It just doesn't get any better than that.
