I didn't mean to imply that I was the original author of this piece. That's why I didn't sign it. A friend of mine sent it to me in an e-mail, and it caught my fancy so I posted it here. He found it on the net somewhere.
From the style of the writing, I'm guessing that it is probably one of Dave Barry's newspaper columns.
