Maxalt has worked well for me. I've had migraines
for 3-5 years. Many are menstrual migraines. The
only problems I have encountered with Maxalt are:
1)the price ($30 copay for 6 tablet, which are
sometimes used in less than a week), 2)sometimes
headache returns in 4-6 hours, and 3)when I have
to take two doses in one day I get extremely tired
and weak.

The Imitrex nasal spray left a terrible taste in
my mouth that wouldn't go away for over 2 hours.

Zomig made me very nauseated and lightheaded about
30 minutes after I took it.

My doctor suggests that I may be getting a rebound
headache with the Maxalt when it comes back 4-6 hours
after taking the medicine. He prescribed Ultram
to get me off the Maxalt for awhile so it will
work better when I do use it. I recently read some
scary side effects about Ultram on the Internet and
don't know if I should use it.

Depakote was prescribed to prevent migraines, but
it made me so weak, tired, and nauseated that I had
to discontinue it after a week.
