Hello all,
I would like to start by saying that i do not get headaches, that are serious. However i will tell you that my wife does get different types of headaches. For around 15 years she has suffered from these horrible headaches. She was trying channel blockers and an assortment of pain meds. She was in a car accident about 5 years ago and was told she had a bulgimg disk in her neck at C-4 and 5.After 3 MRI test were completed.it was also revealed that she has what is know as Degenerative Disk Disease. For those of you not up to par on diseases,it is a condition that weakens the disk in the back until they collapse on a nerve. My wife was experiencing great pain after the accident and headaches that caused a hullucinagen effect. Her doctor prescribed Stadol(NS) for the pain which did very well for relief and sedation. In the years following she went through trigger point injections and cervical epidurals. All these just became "temporary fixes".Up to about 2 yrs ago, everything was doing ok,stable if you will. Then she had surgery to remove the bulging disk.Needless to say,it has been downhill since then. So,now she is going to a pain clinic, since the neurosurgeon can't do anything else. The pain doctor is wonderful,he has prescribed a drug known as oxycontin and soma together. The team is very effective on pain. One thing i would like to note is that since she has been taking oxycontin, the headaches has been less frequent.Coming on about once a month instead of once a week. Also i want to share with you that taking Fiorcet,if you are able, will certainly help a headache when taken after the onset. This appears to work very well on my wife after she took 2 tabs every 3-4 hours. It may take more than one dose to rid of the headache."WARNING"-Following this remedy will cause you to become very tired and/or sleepy. This is all i have for now, everything listed above is from my own experience and knowledge and does not replace or remedy conventional therapy.Hope i can help someone out there.Should you require further assistance, feel free to e-mail me.>>>>THANKS,Jason
