very closely related to LSD but formulated to avoid the psycedelic effects of that drug. Both are ergot derivitives and both were formulated to treat migraine headache. Sansert is effective for the prevention of episodic cluster headache as well, but can only be taken for short periods of time, usually no longer than six months, without a drug holiday of one month, because of serious side effects that can occur with prolonged use.
