The OTC meds only help me when I'm shadowing, usually in the beginning and end of a cycle. They do not touch anything over a 3 on the Kip scale. There are some alternative things that we've had some success with such as strong coffee, ice/hot compresses, hot showers or cold air from the car's AC. Check the topics on the left of the message board for more help.
You also need to find a good doc ASAP, and have him help you make a decision about preventative or abortive drugs.
