... someday.

Even if Dr. Russo's project confirms what we already know -- that psilocybin/psilocin causes lengthy remissions for clusterheads -- I am betting that it will be many years, perhaps decades, before we see psilocin marketed as a prescription drug.

I take this position for a couple of reasons:

1) Because of the episodic nature of CH, the project itself will have to run for many years to have enough clinical validity to be used as a keystone argument by any pharmaceutical company wishing to manufacture such a pill.

2) The Drug Enforcement Agency will fight tooth and nail to keep psilocybin/psilocin classified as a "Schedule 1 controlled substance", just as they did with marijuana, despite the overwhelming evidence that marijuana has legitimate medical uses that can't be duplicated with any other known substance.

In the meantime, there are many countries where the consumption of psilocybin mushrooms is not illegal. England, Holland, and the Dominican Republic, for example.

And, even though it is currently illegal to consume these mushrooms in forty-nine of the fifty states, it is not yet illegal in Florida. If the legal issue is all that is standing in your way, why not plan a vacation in Florida? Go see Cape Canaveral or DisneyLand? *big grin*
