It might be the prednisone, or the amitryptyline.

I have only tried a prednisone "burst" twice, but each time it stopped the headaches completely in less than 24 hours. Each time I started at 80 mg and tapered off gradually. Each time, once I dropped below 50 mg per day, the beast returned... WORSE than before.

Prednisone is commonly prescribed with Sansert, since Sansert often takes weeks to start working, if at all. The prendisone gives you immediate relief, and by the time you taper down to a level where the Sansert kicks in, the fact that the pred is no longer effective is irrelevant.

Whatever the cause, I am glad to hear you are pain free!
