hi... i did it all to, just like you, but my
oxygen tank works! I am amazed that they say no to
oxygen tank cause my CIGNA HMO said yes. Okay, could you
pay for it yourself? It does work! I promise you, but you need
a prescription i believe. And refills. You need a J tank cause only
J tanks have enough air and can go 10 to 15 liters per minute. Small tanks
only do 2 liters per minute and can't do the job. I swear by this and my heart
aches for you that you can't get one through insurance. It works!
It works like this for me. You feel an attack or in a full blown attack, so you go
to your tank, and put a nostril tips in your nose. The face mask doesn't work well
in comparasin for me. Anyway, lay down and take about 10 minutes of breathing in at 8 to
10 to 15 liters per minute. About the 11th minute, i feel it going down... then by 20
minutes, that sucker is gone!!!! If i feel it coming back on through the day, i go back
to my tank and put it on 8 liters per minute and just sit there and about 10 minutes to 20
minutes later, it disappears. One year, i had them so chronic... that after being on it 20 minutes,
then going off the tank.. they came back. So, i stayed on it for 20 minutes at 15 liters per minute,
but then after it broke the pain... i just simply moved the tank down to 4 liters per minute and watched
tv while it did this. A few things, don't use any lotions on your face or inside your nostrils.. or vasaline
cause the oxygen will burn your skin. Call your neuro and tell them that your HMO turned it down but you want
to look into what it will cost for you to do it. I think it's only $20 a refill... and maybe $100 for your initial
setup. Certainly worth the money. Good luck.
