Before I was diagnosed with clusters I was taking antihistamines and they worked, but I had to keep upping the number I took. That lasted a good 6 months. When I was diagnosed, the doc said "oh, they're just cluster headaches" - how could anything so painful be 'just' clusters. Anyhow, that's when I got on the cafergot. Don't know whether this will be helpful..........
