good thought - would depend on the doc how it's rec'd

my doc - who is also a longtime good friend - told me "Frankly, I don't have time to do or read ANYTHING new that isn't dealing with an emergency and you're doing more research on CH than I ever could; let me know what you need & we'll see you get it. Let me know how it works. "

that suits me fine - and in his case, I think it's reasonable - - he's the senior partner in an independent, 4 doc, family practice & they are getting the #$%^&*(~ kicked out of them by HMOs, insurance co's, etc .....

in a more general outlook -
my own opinion (and that's all it is - my opinion) is that it is probably easier to find a different doc who knows about CH or will work with us, than it is to change the personality & mind of one who is so egodriven that they can't admit they don't already know it all this ISN'T defeatism, it's a philosophy of taking the path of least resistance to a solution of the problem

it's ALWAYS easier to change our actions than it is to change somebody else

GRANTED - with MUCH empathy - lots of folks are stuck in very tough places, with HMOs, few other options,
but I guess I'm enough of an ENTP to believe that if it's really that bad, we CAN find a way - - hell, if we're talking about an out-and-out life destroying malady, I don't think we should be too worried about arbitrary details of "rules & regulations", or stepping on somebody's toes

but then, it's late winter in Maine (cabin fever time) & they don't call me the "cranky yankee" for nothing !!!

have a nice valentine's day all !! gg
