I take 1800 mg lithium daily the first week to 10 days of a cluster, then go down by 300 mg a day each month until I'm back at 600 mg a day of lithium therapy. I usually take 240 mg day verapamil, but during a cluster, I take it twice a day (480 mg daily). This always controls the cluster within a week, usually less.
