Some questions and ideas for the next Convention.
Place: I vote and suggest Atlanta (East/center of USA, good and many flights, good and many Hotels)
....obviously I prefer Italy, but I think that's not too good as Atlanta...:-)
Any other suggestions?
Month: I would exclude July and August (too much traffic, too much expensive) June or September could be the good choice. Any suggestions? (Count also the USA school scheduling, I don't know)
Time: the same of the last could be good
Friday optional, Saturday and Sunday mandatory
This scheduling exclude more school and work problems
Topics: the 'administration topics as usual, plus some (if any doctor could do) doctors conferences
Participants: as usual, OUCH and non OUCH members and supporters. Plus some doctors and insurances interested
Booking: I suggest (sure many will hate me!) to book within 3 months to the Convention date the 'presence' at the Convention, with one fourth or third of the forecast fee. In ex. if the participation fee will be 100$, we have to send 25 or 30 $ three months before.
The money amount of people that will pay the 'booking' and cannot participate to the Convention will be used to cover the extra expenses at the Convention, and/or to help OUCH members that cannot participate because of money problems.
This seems me right, in fact the last Convention partecipation was 30, the forecast 1000 ! This difference destroyed (and will destroy) all the possible discounts, facilities, options and plannings.
I think that we have to define soon these things, to get good prices and a long planning time for the participants
