As I understand it, and I am not a doctor, just a lowly sixth grade science teacher, ACE stands for Antigiotensin converting enzyme. It is an biochemical used by the body to regulate areterial pressure. One can only assume that an ACE inhibitor would inhibit the production or uptake of this substance by whatever mechanisms deal with it in the body. It seems to fall in the vascular category of drug treatmehnts (vasoconstrictors maybe) and might probive releif similar to that of the other mentioned in this site such as O2. Hope that helps...I have no idea of side effect or other negative health impacts....
