In the early years of my CH experience, I found some relief from irrigating my painful-side sinus. It didn't always work, but somtimes . . . I still do it with mixed results when the imitrex fails. Sometimes I take a palmful of water (distilled, tap, pool, no difference)and suck it into my left nostril. Such a practice used to work more often than it does now. But attempting anything that has worked in the past is a more acceptable option than grabbing the .45 next to my bed. If I weren't overly concerned with the mess and immediate sorrow, such an action would be an easy choice.
