I read the medications on this site, and I am amazed that I did not find IMITREX injections, which is the only thing that stopped my husbands clusters, after trying morphine (emerg. room), lidocane, oxygen and a myriad of other medications, all to no avail. He suffered for over 30 years, sometimes every day and nite, the clusters sometimes lasting over a year.
When IMITREX (originally intended for Migraines) becaume available, his Dr. prescribed for him and it was like a miracle that the injection stopped the headache within minutes. This was about 10 years ago. Why are Drs. not using this medication. Of course, other factors affecting the patient may prevent the use of it, but since it was a life-saving measure, I sure am appalled that no mention, was made of it on this site.
Since the Imitrex solved the problem, and it ALWAYS worked, I am sorry I did not find this site before.
Ed passed away last year, with emphysema, but the clusters lasted till the end, only less frequent.
I hope all of you who are suffering (and believe me, I know what it's all about) I hope you will ask your Dr. about IMITREX injections and that it will work for all of you.
God bless, and know that you are not alone.

PS I tried to go back and read this message, but there was no way to get back to the beginning. So just ingnore any errors in typing, the info. tho is accurate.
