Many of you here have seen some of the wonderful posts from my Mother (Linda Davis). I would like to ask all of you to keep her in your thoughts and prayers as I've just been notified that her husband of 10+ years, Mike Davis, has just passed away.
Mike was diagnosed with cancer just about two months ago. He was having trouble with his throat and went to see the doctor about it. Turned out, he had a malignent tumor that had attached itself to his throat. Upon further tests, they found that the cancer had already spread like wildfire to his liver, lungs, and bones.
The last couple of months have been spent trying to make him as comfortable as possible. The cancer had so overwhelmed his body, there wasn't much else they could do. He died tonight at home, peacefully, with my Mother by his side.
Mike was a wonderful, God fearing Christian man. We know that he's free from his pain and he's all better now.
I am in the process of working with the American Red Cross to get me home from my deployment here in Turkey on emergency leave as soon as possible. Hopefully, if all goes well, I will be home in the next 48 hours to be by my Mother's side.
I ask that you keep me, my Mother, and the rest of Mike's family in your thoughts and prayers. We will need all of the love and support we can get in the days to come.
