I just got home from a 2 day stay at the hospital due to ischemic colitis. This is caused by the constriction of the blood supply to a part of my colon and the resulting sloughing off of the epithelial lining. This caused me to pass blood. Not a reassuring site especially since colon cancer is rampant in Louisiana.

A JAMA report indicated that ischemic colits may be linked to use of Sumatriptan succinate. See http://www.ama-assn.org/special/migraine/library/readroom/co71029.htm

I have taken 50 to 100 mg of imitrex at least 1/week since Sept 1996 - I am chronic for clusters.

Note: I will take no drugs now for clusters. Trying other methods.
