My first attacks were treated by a very kind and sincere cardiologist, now retired. This was about 18 years ago when little was known about CH or treatment for it.
I tried Cafergot, Butalbital, Inderal, and something else all together (he really was trying), but none of these worked for me.
Can you name anything you have read about here that you have not tried? How about the oxygen, at least to abort the attacks?
You are not alone. Several sufferers write that there is really nothing that is effective against CH. Since we are all different that is not too surprising. Still, I believe I would keep trying different *combinations* of medicine, if possible.
I know this doesn't help much.
But please stay with us here. We care a lot about your head pain. As my kindly old doctor said, "Honey, if I had a rememdy in my hip pocket, I would gladly hand it over to you."
