When you describe the "horrible" throbbing pain behind the eye, it certainly sounds like CH but I doubt anyone could fall asleep when experiencing one of these little distractions. Did the pain subside before you went to bed? I sure hope what you have is something far more benign but if not, this is a good place to vent and get good information. Stay well- - Charlie
