Dear Kira: I know you feel like helping your dad but find out what he wants when not in an episode. For me, I wanted a dark, cool, and quiet place in which to ride out the attack. Also, I've been very sound-sensitive for most of my life and this was one time when the old adage: "silence is golden" meant a lot to me. Maybe your dad feels differently.
Slightly more than half way down the board is my post under "For Karen and Everyone: Time I Posted This Again." This is a biofeedback technique that may help your dad. Have him read it and give it a try. It's harmless and may shorten the attacks.
