Omega 3 is a fatty acid that is essential to our body. It is most commonly derived from fish products and is available in health food stores as fish oil capsules. Omega 3 is used as an anti-inflammatory agent, it reduces cholesterol levels, it thins your blood, therefore it shouldn't be used in conjunction with coumadin or other blood thinners. It is also used to treat bipolar disorder and ADD. These uses indicate to me that Omega 3 affects the seratonin levels in our blood which I think control our cluster headaches. I became PF on July 8th,after being chronic for 5 years,by manipulating my seratonin level and have been PF since. Congratulations on finding relief. I hope many many more are soon to follow.
Stay PF, Drue
