Karen, please take no offense...I support the sentiments of your post completely. I must, however, take exception at the oft-stated comment about "no dedicated research into this affliction". This is simply untrue, although most of this research receives woefully inadequate publicity.

Purchase Dr. Goadsby's book, "Cluster Headache and Related Conditions" if you can afford the incredibly high price, or take the info on it to your local Public Library and beg them to get a copy. It details roughly 44 recent studies into various aspects of CH and related conditions which were presented to the 1999 annual meeting of the International Headache Society....a meeting, btw, solely devoted to CH for the very reason that these medical research professionals are well aware that CH has not received the attention it should.

Collectively, we need to do a much better job at educating OURSELVES as to the research and info that is being done and compiled. It's not easy, as little of this ever reaches popular mass media channels, but it is out there.

Enrolling in Medline's MedPulse Neurological Summary is one good avenue for this.
