Welcome Alec to this slightly nutty family of clusterheads.
Under the buttons on the right there's a lot of information. I'd suggest you print it all out to read at your leisure.
Imitrex is a migraine med, that's true, but the fast acting imitrex shots have done a lot for clusterheads. The nose spray a little less. (And read the imitrex tip on the left).
Then there is oxygen, inhaled with a non-rebreather mask (not the nose canules you know from TV hospitals) and with a valve set at an outflow of at 7-15 liters per minute. It has helped many of us, and has some great advantages over medication.
Feel free to ask questions, if you can't find the information by hitting the search button. And check out OUCH, the organisation for understanding cluster headaches - link on the left.
Do join in on this message board, or the chat rooms. There is a lot of fun going on, if only to make us forget what hurts us.
Walk in beauty, annemarie
