I take 25mg of Pamelor daily. My doctor prescribed it for helping with nerve pain and to help a little with sleep. I take it at bed time and haven't noticed any side effects. Can't say that I've noticed any benefit, either. The outside of my right thigh goes through cycles from barely noticeable pins and needles to occasional painful ice picks. I keep thinking that it's connected to my clusters--same side of body, vague similarity in the quality (not magnitude) of the pain--but my neurologist says it stems from a deep cut I got close to my knee. I think I had an EMG. I know I had some test to measure the conductivity of the nerves in the area. I remember just mild pin-prick-like discomfort that went away immediately. The test proved nothing.

My neuro suggested a B vitamin--I can't remember which--that would help with re-myelinization and consequently calm some of the nerve activity. I think that worked a little.

Good luck,
Jim
