Every medication that there is in the world may have side effects, and the side effects that are listed are not always the ones that come through in a particular patient. I am not saying that people should or should not use narcotics it is up to them. Narcotics are controlled substances for a reason. From what I have seen and heard many CH ers have addictive personalities, I do know that this is true in our case. It's probably not a good idea for an addictive personality to take anything that may become addictive, I mean everyone of us that smokes started from smoking a cigarette one time, could the use of narcotics do the same as the cigarettes did?

Narcotics may help someone with the acute CH but may cause chronic side effects, it is a personal decision that the person themselves has to make and we need to remember that. I wouldn't want anyone to push me one way or the other nor would I take everything that is said here as the word of god, oh shit now I'm pushing religion, but it it is up to the individual what is right for them. In a way any of the medications that people take are in fact addictive, the whole point of an addiction is needing or wanting more of anything. If the imitrex works for you and you take it everytime you have a CH well then in a way you are addicted to it because you are getting the response that you need form it. If someone is addicted to meth they need or want the response that they get from the meth. Whether or not the response that they get is a good or bad one it's still a response that they feel that they need.

Not every individual's response to medication is the same and that's why the narcotics work for some and not for others. If there is one thing that I have learned with dealing with CH it's that there's not one thing that works for everybody, and if they do find something, how long will it work and why doesn't it work for everybody? Personaly I think that with CH you need to be willing to try things according to your personal feelings on the issue. One word of advice though I haven't found anything that says reindeer poop has worked for anybody, but you can try it if you want.
