My MD just started me on Amerge. The plan of attack is one before bed and one mid day. Her thinking is while it takes approximately 90 minutes for Amerge to take effect my headaches don't generally wake me up until I've been sleeping for 1 1/2 to two hours so it should start working at just the right time. In addition Amerge is supposed to have a half life of about 6 hours so the second dose at mid day should keep enough in my system to maintain its effectiveness 24 hours. All I know is the first night was pain free and a great and welcomed nights sleep. Good luck.
