My Doctor of many years was becoming concerned about
the amount of Imitrex I've been taking, 30 to 40, 50MG
pills a month. There are some side effects such as
liver damage that aren't so good. We started trying
other possible combinations and I think we found one.
First, I've been a CH suffer since 1974, regular season
runs from October til late February, 4 to 6 a day.
What I'm taking now is 1 50MG of Amitriptyline and 1
5MG of Norcasc at bed time. After the first 5 days, my
headaches were reduced in intensity from crippling to
annoying. The next five days reduced the occurance
4 to 6 per day to 1 to 2. After almost 3 weeks, I've
now gone 4 days without a CH!! I know my season has not
ended since the aura associated with the CH season is
still there. If this helps just one other person, it
was worth the posting.
