Before my latest cluster hit I read "Finding a Joyful Life in the Heart of Pain" by Darlene Cohen. She is a Zen teacher and massage therapist who has rheumatoid arthritis. While I didn't discover anything to make the pain of an attack any less severe; what I learned, I think, helped me a lot during the dreadful waiting between attacks. The book is available at http://www.shambhala.com (My mother found it at her local library in small-town Iowa.)
