Hi Jason,
I'd opt for verap first, very few side effects and it does work for some. I've been doing Veralan PM, 300 mg (it's a brand name of verapail). I'm eposodic now (did the chronic crap about 8 - 9 years ago) and ended my last cycle last May and before I started verap so can't say for sure how effective it is for CH. But I, as many others take it for high blood pressure and after 6+ months PF, have not had any side effects. Lithium, on the other hand, can produce some serious sides. Check the dtug database at onhealth.com for details. When I was chronic I went to a local pain clinic, spent 5 minutes with a neuro, was scripted for lithium and declared cured. $80.00 please. He did schedule me for an MRI tho and after reading the side effects of lithium on the web, I decided to wait until after the MRI before starting the drug. Well, had the MRI and went into remission for about 2 years. Had I started the lithium, I'd probably still be taking it. While I don't recommend against using lithium, I do suggest trying the more benign meds first. Best of luck.
Kip
