Hi Deborah. I get the same tender head feeling, but it's not the same pain as the cluster. My clusters always come at night and I usually have a dull pain behind and around my eyes and a very tender, almost bruised (but not visually) forehead on the right side where I get my CH. I usually attribute the tender head to the constant hard rubbing, etc. that I HAVE to do when my real CH comes on. But maybe it's not because of that. I did read somewhere that there are people who have been diagnosed w/ CH, without really having the extremely painful headaches. Sorry I can't remember where I read that. Hope it helps.
