I have been incredibly lucky with my jobs - my first boss, and still good friend, his wife had severe migraine so he had a lot of sympathy. I left that company and joined my current company two years ago. My new boss is also very sympathetic, as I collapse on him at work one day!! He thought I was having a stroke or something. Anyway, for the past five months I have been working from home, and I am just starting a bout of clusters - first baddish one this morning - so I can take time out to sort myself out and then go back to work when I feel OK. I know of one chap who went self employed (plumber) as he had to take five months off every year with his clusters - he now works when he can and carried a portable O2 cylinder with him. I am very tired of having to try to explain this awful illness to people. I think it should get the recognition it so richly deserves, I mean, a boss wouldn't dream of sacking someone with MS or diabetes - and these clusters are just as debilitating.
Godd luck - hope you find an understanding boss
Linda
