Is your husband chronic or episodic? I'm chronic and my neuro had me on 2,000mg of depakote, still had attacks every day #5-7s but developed a tremour from the high does after 4 months so he backed me down to 1,000mg depakote and 100mg topamax combo, still have the daily #5-7s but not many break throughs to #10s. I also take 9mg of melatonin at bed time and I rarely get hit in the middle of the night now.
