You're right that Annemarie is right. They shouldn't be jumped on for using the term. Usually they're not, from what I've seen, but are informed that there is no such official term as you just did. A lot of times the person newly educated feels like they were attacked when they weren't. On the other hand, I have seen some people jumped on for it too. That all said, August mentioned Dr. Robbins site and the use of the term. And that falls in line with something the main doc at a headache clinic in Boston I went to several years back told me because I am photophobic and had auras the first year or two I was getting attacked, and I would get sick quite often during them. I was told I have a hybrid of clusters and migraines. I guess the only difference between it sounding like a reasonable diagnosis from a doctor is the phrase "a hybrid of clusters and migraines" and "you have cluster migraines." I was the first one this doctor ever saw with this "hybrid." He seemed so interested that he asked if I'd be willing to be studied by him and his team for a while on a weekly basis. This was the days when HMOs were first getting started and it was all I could afford. When he learned this fact, the full work-up I was scheduled that day for got cancelled, as did his desire to study my condition.
