I've got three very good doctors (I'm lucky enough to be in Boston, which I'm finding is something of a medical heaven--I'm seeing a neurologist, a sinus specialist, and a GP), my problems usually come during ER visits or sessions with the nurses. I'm taking regular doses of ergotamine as a preventative, and I have Vicodin as an abortive. Getting refills can be hell, however, and my chances of ever getting my dosage increased are slim to none, which means fighting off the pain while I figure out which preventative is right for me is going to a harrowing process. I'll hang in there--I've only been suffering from CH for a few months, and reading stories from people who have been suffering for decades definitely bolsters my resolve.
