Thought I'd share what stopped the beastie this time. I've turned sorta chronic this year, and back in October the devil started poking through my prophylaxis of verapamil (240 mg x 2) and lithium (600 mg x 2) that had worked so well since March. By last week I was up to 3 attacks per day, mostly 5's that responded well to oxygen. Had a couple of killer 10's that needed an imitrex spray, though.
Doc added sansert (2 mg x 2) to my other meds, first time I've taken all three in concert. Knocked 'em out day one -- I started last Friday and have 4 PFD's under my belt with rapidly disintegrating shadows!! Happy guy!!!!
I've done sansert therapy five times now, and according to my Doc, you can take it long term with no ill effects if you stop for a few weeks twice a year to let the kidneys return to their pre-sansert state. Seems to work for me, I have no side effects at all except for a bit of elation at not having to lug the oxygen bottle back and forth from home to work. Oh, yeah, there's also the pain that I don't miss.
I don't usually get down during a cycle, but this one was beginning to get to me for some reason.... Oh, well, I'd better start enjoying the beastie's sleep since I have no idea when he'll wake back up!
To steal BobP's line, Love You Guys!!
