If you're stil having shadows, you're not out of the cycle yet. What I usually do about the preventative meds is continue taking them for a month or so after my last attack.
Cafergot has some wierd side effects and it would be best to get off that one now if you can.
Verapamil doesn't have many side effects other than low blood pressure (at least for me)... but it is VERY IMPORTANT to taper off of it gradually... do not stop cold turkey.
